What is Aadhaar Card?
Aadhaar Card is a unique identification number issued by the Government of India, which is managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Aadhaar card contains personal information of all citizens such as name, address, date of birth, and a unique 12-digit Aadhaar number. Types of Aadhar Cards

Aadhar Card Download Process
If you also want to download your Aadhar card, then you can Aadhar Card Download in many ways . Today we will tell you the complete process of downloading Aadhar card through Aadhar number from the official website of UIDAI, step by step, which is as follows:
- To Aadhar Card Download , first of all you have to visit UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
- On the home page of the official website, you will see the Download Aadhaar option, you have to click on it.

After this you will come to a new page where you will see the
following options –
- Aadhaar Number
- Enrolment ID Number
- Virtual ID Number
- SID
- As soon as you click on an option as per your choice, you will go to a new page as shown below.
- After this you have to enter your Aadhar number.
- After this, you have to enter the captcha code in that box and click on the ‘ Send OTP’ option.
- After this, you have to verify by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
- After verification, you have to click on the submit button.

Note :- To view your Aadhaar card download, you can go to the download folder in mobile/laptop and view the password protected Aadhaar card PDF. To open it, you will first have to enter an 8 character password. This password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your name (as found in Aadhaar) in capital letters and the year of birth in the format – YYYY.
For example :- If my name is RAVI and date of birth is 01/01/1999 then my password will be RAVI1996
Aadhar Card Download Enrolment ID Number
If your Aadhaar card has already been issued or you have registered for Aadhaar and received the Enrolment ID number , but you have not received the Aadhaar card yet, then you can e Aadhar Card Download by following all these steps from the Enrolment ID (EID) number :
- To Aadhar Card Download through Enrolment ID Number , first of all you have to visit UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
- On the home page of the official website, you will see the option to Download Aadhaar, you have to click on it
- After this, when you click on the ‘ Enrolment ID (EID) Number ‘ option, a new page will open in front of you as shown in the screenshot below.
- After this you will have to enter your 14 digit Enrolment ID Number .
- Then after this you have to enter the date and time of your Aadhar card correctly .

- To Aadhar Card Download Virtual ID from Virtual ID, first you have to visit UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ .
- On the home page of the official website, you will see the option to Download Aadhaar, you have to click on it
- After this, when you click on the ‘ Virtual ID Number ‘ option, a page will open in front of you as shown in the screenshot below.
- After this you will have to enter your 14 digit Virtual ID number .
- After this you have to enter the date and time of your Aadhar card correctly.

DigiLocker is a digital document storage service of the Government of India, through which you can download and store your e-Aadhaar securely. Here is the complete process to Aadhar Card Download from Digilocker . You can download your e-Aadhaar card by following all these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official DigiLocker website :-
- To Aadhar Card Download through Digilocker, first of all you have to go to Digilocker official website digilocker.gov.in पर जाए ।
Step 2: Login :-
- After this you have to log in using your credentials. If you do not have an account yet (new users), then create a new account using your mobile number and email.
Step 3: Login :-
- After creating a new account, you have to click on Login and log in with your user ID and password
Step 4: Search the Document :-
- After logging in, you have to click on the ‘Search Document’ option and search for the Aadhaar card .
Step 5 : Select Aadhaar Card :-
- After this, you will have to click on the Aadhar Card option in the search result.
Step 6 : Enter Aadhaar Number and OTP :-
- After this, to download your Aadhar card you will have to enter your Aadhar number and your registered mobile number and verify it with the OTP received.

Aadhar Card Download UMANG Portal
UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) portal is a digital platform developed by the Government of India, through which you can e-Aadhaar Card download . Here is the complete process to download Aadhaar from UMANG, you have to follow these steps which are as follows:
Step 1: Visit the official Umang portal website:-To download Aadhaar card through Umang portal, first of all you haveto visit the Umang portal of official website web.umang.gov.in.
Step 2: Login to Umang Portal :- If you are not already registered, first you need to register yourself on this portal and log in to it.
Step 3: Select ‘My Aadhaar’ option :- After logging in,click on “ My Aadhaar ” option in the “Aadhaar” or “Documents” section on the homepage.
Step 4: Select the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option: – After this you will see many options in front of you. You have to click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option as shown in the screenshot.
Step 5: Verification Process :-After this a new page will open in front of you, you have to click to proceed with the verification process to download Aadhar card.
Step 6: Enter Aadhaar number and OTP:- After this you will come to a new page where you have to enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number and click on send OTP and verify by entering the received OTP.
Step 7: Download Aadhaar Card :- After the verification process is completed you have to click on the "Verify & Download" button. In this way your e-Aadhaar card will be downloaded in PDF format on your device.
Aadhar Card Download mAadhaar App
mAadhaar App is the official mobile application for Aadhaar. If you want to Aadhar Card Download mAadhaar App, then you can download your e-Aadhaar card by following the following procedure:
Install mAadhaar App :-
- To download e Aadhar Card through mAadhaar App, first you have to search mAadhaar App in the search box of Play Store .
- An app will appear on your screen as shown in the screenshot below. You have to download and install that application.
Register in the app :-
- To open the installed application, you have to click on the “Register Aadhaar” tab and provide some necessary permissions in the mobile .
- After this, you have to set a 4-digit PIN/password (remember it, as it is required for profile access) Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code. OTP has to be verified After this, you have to register with your phone number.
- If you have already registered yourself, enter your phone number and verify it using OTP sent to your mobile.
Download Aadhaar :-
- To download your Aadhaar card in that app, you will have to go to My Aadhaar section on the main dashboard .
- After this, you have to click on the option ‘Download Aadhaar’
- You will then receive an SMS with an OTP on your registered mobile number to verify via OTP by entering Aadhaar number/VID/EID.
- Your e-Aadhaar card will then be downloaded as a digitally signed and password protected electronic copy.
Open PDF download with password:-
- Password Format: First 4 letters of name (in CAPS) + Year of Birth (YYYY)
- Example: “RAJU1990” (Name: Raju, Born: 1990)
How to Generate Virtual ID to Download Aadhar Card
If you have forgotten or lost your Aadhaar number and Virtual ID number , then you have to generate Virtual ID and follow the following steps to Download Aadhar Card through Virtual ID, which are as follows
Step 1: To generate Virtual ID, first of all youhave to go to the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/ .
Step 2: On the official website, you will see a menu of “My Aadhaar”. On clicking that menu option, a popup will open. In that popup, you have to click on the option of “ Virtual ID (VID) Generator ” as shown in the screenshot.
After that a new page will open in front of you in which youhave to click on the Generator VID option to get Virtual ID (VID) .
Step 4: After this, you have to enter your Aadhaar number in that form and also enter the captcha code. Andclick on the Send OTP button.
Step 5: After this, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the received OTP and submit it . In this way, your VID will be displayed on the screen.
Note :- Once you get the Virtual ID Number , follow the steps given below to download your Aadhaar.
- To Aadhar card download , first of all you have to go to UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ .
- On the home page of the official website, you will see the option to download Aadhaar, you have to click on it
- After this, when you click on the ‘ Virtual ID Number ‘ option, a page will open in front of you as shown in the screenshot below.
- After this you will have to enter your 14 digit Vertual ID Number .
- Then after this you have to enter the issue date and time of your Aadhar card correctly .
- After this, enter the captcha code provided in the box and click on Send OTP option.
- After this, you have to verify by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
- After this you will have to click on the submit button.
- After this, a message of Congratulations will appear on the screen of your mobile or laptop. In this way, the Aadhar card will be downloaded on your device.
How to Generate Enrolment Number to Download Aadhar Card
If you have forgotten or lost your Aadhaar number and Enrolment ID Number, then you can download your Aadhaar card again by generating your Enrolment ID Number:
- Step 1: To get the Enrolment ID Number, first of all you have to visit the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/ .
- Step 2: On that official website, you will see an option of “My Aadhaar”. On clicking that option, a popup will open. In that popup, you will have to click on the option of “ Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID ” as shown in the screenshot.

Step 3: After this a new page will open in front of you in which you will see the option of whether you want to retrieve Aadhaar number or get EID number. You have to tick according to your choice.
- Step 4: After this you have to enter your full name, registered mobile number/email ID and finally you have to enter the captcha code.
- Step 5: After this you have to click on the Send OTP button, after which an OTP will be sent to your mobile number. You have to verify it by entering that received OTP.
- Step 6: Your Aadhaar number or EID will then be sent to your mobile number or email.
